I snapped some photos at the Astana team camp in Albuquerque. Some of these are truly behind the scenes shots so I'll try to point out the items of interest with a caption below each photo.
That's Ben Coates, Trek's Liaison to the Astana team. Although he sees pretty bikes all the time, it's still cool to see them all in one place.
A stack of TTX 9.9 SSL bikes.
Andreas Kloden's TTX was on display at the team presentation.

The Texas Crew, the film folks behind all of the Discovery Channel shows, spends some time with Johan before the ride.

With the temperatures in the 30S for much of the week, the team gathered indoors before they ventured outside.
Custom name badges complete the package.
Chris Horner finds some sun...
then gets some help making a stem height adjustment.
National Champ Levi chats with head mechanic Chris van Roosbroeck before the ride.
Director Sportifs Ekimov and Gallopin detail the day's route.
Each day's ride was escorted by the Bernallio sheriff's department.
Horner, Leipheimer and Jani Brajkovic spent time at the Albuquerque Bicycle Center fielding fan's questions and signing autographs.

So what is going to happen now that Astana is not going to be racing in the Tour de France?
It is sad that Astana is being judged by their past and by their name. Even though it is a whole new team.

Wow, that is so incredibly cool. I just can't believe they are not in the TdF this year. So very sad...

As always good to see behind the scenes stuff featuring the Trek bikes!
It must be very galling for you guys to have your investment in Astana compromised by the UCI/ASO power struggle but you should know that for real fans of the Trek brand any success in any race is good news! Tour de France be damned...at least you can go out to win a ton of races now and not have to concentrate all the efforts on the TdF
