Madone endorsement

I found a blog that praises the Madone for exactly the right reasons.  Thanks Cal!

"The Trek provides a very comfortable ride, yet the bike is light and responsive. The higher stem means a more relaxed, slightly upright riding position. My palms don't go numb and my neck doesn't get stiff. I've got enough gears to climb the mountains and go fast on the plains. I look forward to riding this bike because it just feels good."  -Cal Meuzelaar  ...read more...

I received my 2008 Madone 5.5 Performance in October. It is a dream for this 65 year old roadie for all the reasons Carl mentioned, especially on longer-50 mile plus rides. It's amazing how great you actually feel, and I can keep up, almost, with the "kick-ass" guys in the fast group.

Good deal. Is difficult for me to grasp anything riding better than my current 110 Project One. So am really looking forward to the 6.9 Project One.

Yet another endorsement. Outside Magazine named the Trek Madone 5.2 (Performance)as the top road bike in their Gear-of-the-Year issue. And as a proud owner of the very same bike, I concur with all the praise being lavished upon it!!!

Oh yeah, here's the link to Outside Magazine's Gear-of-the-Year road bike section.

Two weeks ago I bought a new 07 Madonne 5.0, 120 carbon and the full Integra group. For a 62 year old trying to keep up with the bad ass cyclists and looking forward to my first century ride, it has been like a gift from heaven. I have improved my average speed by a full 2 mph, and the riding pleasure by 200 per cent. I have expanded my weekend rides to 30 plus miles both days. The single most rewarding case for my Madonne: on the road the "real" cyclists need to push themselves to pass me when I'm pushing 23-24 mph.

I bought a 5.5 in February and started riding it in May (Upstate NY) I now have about 600 miles on it and this is absolutely the best bike I have ever ridden. All the comments reviewers have made about smoothness, stiffness, tracking etc are true. I've hit 45mph on a downhill with complete confidence. Push on the pedals and the bike just surges forward. My previous bike had a titanium frame with 105 components and weighed about 20 lbs, not junk. The Madone is on a whole other level.

I have a Madone 5.2 and absolutely love it. I have never ridden a bike that provides a "soft" comfortable ride while at the same time transmitting so much power to the wheels. I never knew I could be this fast. Is it me, or is it the Madone? Please don't tell anybody...

I bought the 2008 Madone 6.9 Pro in April 2008 and I love the feel and handling of the bike.. I still own a 2003 5.5 trek road bike, 2004 Madone 110 carbon 5.9 . I could feel the difference on the new Madone.. It is more responsive and it is a feather climbing up hills.. I love it!!
